To preserve Mosier’s historic character and to promote a healthy sustainable economy and community by supporting the City of Mosier through planning and fundraising.
To assist the City of Mosier in updating the Comprehensive Plan and Implementing Ordinances that will enhance and control the nature, center, and growth of Mosier and create a Downtown Revitalization Plan.
1. Engage community - seek input through surveys, focus groups and town hall meetings. Then document results and distribute back to the community.
2. Assess City/County needs related to the community of Mosier’s planning efforts and regulations.
a. Review previous downtown planning efforts (TGM 2003). Identify suggested actions that may apply now
b. Review Ordinances. Compare with other like cities. Identify gaps. Identify solutions/sources for usable examples
c. Develop a list of priorities
3. Assist with applying community survey data into Comprehensive Plan
a. Review previous community input section
b. Ensure our summary fits format
c. Produce version which can be presented/reviewed/adopted as needed
4. Engage experts with planning/community designing skills to guide process and produce resulting documents (downtown revitalization plan overlays; comprehensive plan updates; ordinances; designs; codification)
a. Identify local resources/individuals with related skills
b. Conduct preparatory actions towards desired results (research; reviews)
c. Obtain competitive bids from professional community designers
5. Seek Funding/Resources to support costs related to identified work items
a. Identify stratified project steps
b. Research possible funding sources
c. Grant writing
d. Fundraising Events
e. Identify individuals with needed skills to accomplish work through in-kind donations.
